From 1850 to 1950 over 400 million dollars in gold had been mined and made Grass Valley the most prosperous mining town. It was in 1953 that the founder of Litton industries relocated his labs to GV and 6 years later his friend founded the Grass Valley Group. In years to come additional companies were launched in the area attracting educated, professional engineers, scientist, technicians and management.
Like Nevada City, Grass Valley is a well preserved gold town that has managed to attract modern business in our global market place and successfully establish the social vitality and economic strength and have made the Sierra Nevada Foothills a great place to live and work.
There is something to be said about living in a community that people come to for a vacation. We are within an hour drive to Old Town Sacramento or Lake Tahoe. One and one half hour to Reno or 3 hours to San Francisco.
