So Many Location Options
If you decide to live in the Sierra Nevada Foothills you will have multiple choices on what type of topography that appeals to you most. Nevada City is a higher elevation with more potential for snow. If you want to live in the pines, Nevada City is a must see.
Grass Valley is a little lower in elevation and can also get some snow. Penn Valley (Lake Wildwood) is a lower elevation (1200 ft) and can get lightly dusted but the snow does not stick. If you want to live in oak tree country, Penn Valley is where to come. Just South of Penn Valley is Yuba County still located in the lower Sierra Nevada Foothills. This includes Browns Valley, Brownsville, Marysville and Yuba City.
